Board decor

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

The guys at Skate Study House have been able to create fun and innovative furniture with the use of recycled skateboard materials. They have designed lounge chairs, tables and hanging hooks with boards, wheels, and bearings. Based out of Newport Beach, all pieces are made in California and are second hand objects combined with custom parts. We love that the Skate Study House will allow us to bring skateboarding into the home decor…and not just in a college dorm room look sort of way, all while being environmentally friendly! Check out some of our favorite pieces:

Hot boarding boots for the ladies

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

We recently started scoping out the gear for this year’s snowboarding season… Its about boots, boots and more boots. We are pleasantly surprised with all of the stylish and seemingly practical choices for women (well the verdict is still out on the practicality but we’re hopeful). We’re happy that brands appear to be looking out for women almost as much as men. The options continue to get better every year. Check out some of the new options for women this year.

Trendy technology (accessories)

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Though there are a million cases and sleeves to choose from for your Macbook, designers are coming out with exclusive sleeves for fashion and art lovers. Incase has a released a sleeve from the artwork of British designer Gareth Pugh and Hype Means Nothing released a sleeve with their iconic images of celebrities. And in the tradition of unique fashion and art, they don’t come cheap and are only available online (check out Colette) or in select boutiques around the world. However, we know that accessorizing and customizing your technology can be similar to your pursuit of fashion so we can’t hate on this trend.

Protege has our attention

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Rapper Fat Joe recently announced that he has teamed up with Kmart and Sears and launched an affordable sneaker line, Protégé. He wanted to release a shoe that kids could afford, especially during the economic recession. We have been hearing some skepticism on the $34.99 price for the shoe although we haven’t heard a lot of negative comments about the quality or look of the shoe. Personally, we like the price trend and looking hoping others jump on the lower pricing trend.
